Deacon Steve Lang is married to Christine and they have four grown children and one granddaughter. After serving 26 years in the Air Force, they decided to retire to Melbourne. From the time they arrived in 2016, they fell in love with the Holy Name of Jesus parish community. Towards the end of his military career, he had a deliberate call to serve the church and entered formation to the Permanent Diaconate in 2020. He was ordained on June 6, 2026. Deacon Steve continues to work full time as an executive consultant for the Space Force and helps Christine care for the elderly, particularly those with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
